Why cellphones are annoying

Not that we felt like we really needed an explanation, but some researchers at the University of York in Britain have been trying to figure out what it is about listening to someone talk on their cellphone is so annoying.
Turns out it's not really the loudness, it's that it's harder to ignore a conversation when you can only hear half of it.
