Longhorn to require PCs from the future
As if to taunt us not only with the sheer inferiority of our current machines, but also with their imminent obsolescence, word has leaked that the "average" PC running Longhorn (the code-name for Microsoft's next-generation Windows desktop operating system) is expected to have a dual-core 4 to 6GHz processor, a minimum of 2GB of RAM, a 1 terabyte hard drive, 1 gigabit Ethernet (which is still pretty uncommon right now), and a graphics card that's three times as fast as the ones you can buy right now. It's a good thing Longhorn isn't due out until 2006, or a lot of us would be in trouble.
