Verizon requiring early termination fee for man's early termination

Proving that not even death is enough to get you out of those early terminations fees on cellphone contracts,
Verizon Wireless gave Julie McMurray a choice between either paying up or giving her dead husband's cellphone to another member of the family. They ended up backing down, but only after  some high-level intervention.
