Pocket CDs

It's getting hard for us to imagine a teenager even buying a CD player these days, but the major labels in Europe think that yet another disc format, this one a three-inch disc called the pocket CD, will save them from the Internet.
Since three-inch compact discs have been around for years and years, the main innovation seems to be that they're packaging the CD singles with ringtones. We won't rag on this any more than to say this: pocket CDs have been selling so well in Germany that BMG decided to discontinue making them last month.
