WiMax in laptops by 2006?

We hope your head has room for one more acronym, because Intel says that WiMax is going to start showing up in laptops as early as 2006. Even if they're being a little optimistic, you better get used to hearing about WiMax — which is basically a high-speed wireless standard that is like a long-distance version of WiFi with a range of around three to five miles (compared to WiFi's typical range of a few hundred feet) — since it's not going away.
