The NEC 232 fitness phone
NEC hasn't made much of an impact on the cellphone market lately here in the States (they seem to save their sweetest handsets for Asia and Europe), but apparently they're making another go of it with the 232, a new cellphone that they're going to market to women and that comes pre-installed with fitness and health software apps like a BMI
calculator, heart rate tracker, and a calorie counter (they also have a marketing partnership with Fitness
magazine). We won't get in to the whole thing about whether or not it's lame/chauvinist to assume that the trick to selling a cellphone to women is to convince them that it'll help them lose weight, so we'll just revert to form and mention that the EDGE-enabled 232 will also have a built-in VGA quality camera and 5MB of memory.
