Videophone prices plummeting

Not that this should come as a huge surprise, but a new videophone system from PolyCom aimed at business is retailing for only $429.  This is news because previous systems retailed for as much as $40,000 and required a full conference room installation.  The new system, based on Avaya's Softphone, is designed for execs who demand that war room atmosphere in board rooms around the globe.  While we're pretty sure movie producers filming next year's blockbusters will be among the first buyers, at $429 even small businesses can enjoy the sight of their international workmates delivering exciting PowerPoint presentations from around the world.
