Computer viruses will make people sick, too. At least eventually.
As if we didn't all see it coming, a future of cybernetic
humans could make us vulnerable to a whole new landscape of illnesses. Today, getting a flu is one thing, and
getting a computer worm is another, but cyborg wannabe/Reading University professor Kevin Warwick argues that in
the future computer viruses could spell doom for humans dependent on cybernetic implants. And if today's computer
viruses tell us anything, the future could consist of viruses in which hackers gain control of people's body
parts, nervous systems, and even minds. So instead of zombie PCs spitting out spam and trojans, we'll have
zombie cyborgs that are shoplifting or whatever. Go trip out on that. We'll see you in five.
