Hitachi developing tabletop touchscreen

Ah yes, Dillinger's desk from Tron is finally available.  Using Hitachi's projector and image recognition technologies, the new tabletap touch screen recognizes touches and drags via the shadows created by an infrared camera.  Hitachi points out that this $20,000 table will be great for collaboration, allowing someone to simple circle an item to zoom in on it, for instance.  A more interesting application is Hitachi's collaboration with Namco, with whom they say they are coming up with some new ideas for network gaming.
