Apple.com is web traffic leader among all computer manufacturers

File this in the 'interesting stats' category: the apple.com website attracted the largest number of unique visitors among all computer manufacturers this second week of November. Nielson/NetRatings reports they garnered 4.9 million unique visits, as compared to 2.7 million for Dell, 2 million for HP, and 479,000 for Gateway.

It would be a bit more interesting to know what these statistics were over time. Has traffic been rising as the great iPod craze has grown, or was there a freakishly large number of Windows crashes that particular week? I'm willing to wager more folks are getting curious about the Mac. What say you?
