Cell tower disrupts "cosmic bread"
Cellphone towers may be a
blight on the landscape, and they may even emit
marginally dangerous levels of electromagnetic radiation,
but until now we didn't realize that they interfered with "subtle cosmic forces" that a bakery in Kent, England, relies on to bake their bread. According to the BBC, the Artisan Bakery tracks planetary movements to determine the best time to bake. However, plans by cellular provider Hutchinson 3G to install a tower about 25 feet from the bakery have led to fears that radiation could affect the "living process" of baking the bread. We've had our share of cosmic bread (mainly in Amsterdam), and we're not too worried. In fact, we bet a slight glow could actually enhance the flavor of some of the bakery's goods.
