LAPD tests facial recognition technology

Not content with merely jamming our cellphones in the event of a crisis, now the Los Angeles Police Department is testing some mobile facial recognition technology for a safer, more secure, less invasive tomorrow. In trials the recognition software found two suspected gang members riding double on a bike together and determined that one of the men was a 94-percent match for an arrest warrantee; the cops snagged him. But we want to know what kind of gang lets its members cruise around town riding double on a bicycle?
(Unless the LAPD is busting down on Critical Mass now, too.)
