Spanish researchers trip out on Free Network Visible Network

In the ongoing (and laudable) effort to make Tron a reality for us all, Spanish researchers are crafting Free Network Visible Network, a 3D visualization of all that data some of us call a wireless network.  Others call it porn, but that's not important here.  The project creates an "augmented reality" in which viewers see 3D shapes that represent the data flying in super cybperspace between computers, all without the aid of hallucinogens or frogs.  Different data types are represented by divergent shapes (cubes for text, spheres for video, etc.).  Apparently it can also be used as a wireless network snooper, so one can scan a building to discover a node, visually, Metroid style.  Plans to make this whole thing into a multi-player game are also in the works.
