T-Mobile merger no longer in the cards

As you may (or may not know), T-Mobile (who here used to be Voicestream) is owned by German telecommunications company Deutsche Telekom; that company mandated, despite many an avaricious
mumbling and rumor, that T-Mobile would not be aquiring Nextel, nor anyone else for that matter. Instead, they plan to focus on developing their current business and continuing to do what they do best: great prices, minimal coverage area, and procrastinating bit-time on high speed data. Huzzah!
