Ubisoft gets no love from Vivendi

Yesterday's widespread rumor that Vivendi was negotiating a merger with Ubisoft to prevent EA's takeover has been squashed.  Vivendi released this statement:

"...in view of the rumours reported in the press, Vivendi Universal denies that any negotiations are taking place concerning the takeover of Ubisoft."

However, Infogrames is standing by its claim to aid Ubisoft if EA does make moves to initiate a hostile takeover.  Good luck.
