Verbatim to produce both Blu-ray and HD-DVD media

Not wanting to risk backing the wrong horse, media-manufacturer Verbatim announced that it will produce both Blu-Ray and HD-DVD discs. Other independent media companies will likely follow suit, though some, such as Sony and Toshiba, can be expected to line up behind their respective formats (can anyone say "Beta vs. VHS?"). Verbatim has long been format-agnostic. Despite helping to develop double-layer DVD+R technology, the company sells media in competing formats as well.
