Intel set to launch Sonoma next week

Intel will launch its next-generation Centrino mobile processor platform, dubbed Sonoma, on January 19th at an event in San Francisco.  The new platform will include a new version of Pentium M, a new wireless set, as well as a new chip set which, according to Intel, has double the graphics performance of current models.  It'll be hard to miss if you're in the market for a PC laptop — there will be about 80 notebooks based on the Sonoma platform released at the launch date, with 150 shipping by the end of the year. You know how Intel likes to roll deep.
