LG develops 3D game-phone

We're still not convinced that cellphones make the best game consoles, especially considering how poorly they stack up against dedicated handheld consoles like the
Nintendo DS and
Sony PSP which really deliver the goods. But that hasn't stopped LG Electronics from following in the illustrious footsteps of Nokia's
N-Gage, and releasing their own gaming phone, which they pitched at CES (yeah, we're still decompressing; there was a lot there). We like the looks of the unit, which resembles a normal-but-chunky phone and flips open to reveal a 2.2-inch screen and dedicated game controllers. And we like the fact that LG has invested in a chipset that will allow fast 3D graphics. However, with limited software, and plans by LG to market it as a "high-priced, premium product," we somehow don't see this taking the gaming world by storm.
