AMD's Turion Takes on Intel's Centrino
AMD's got a new line of mobile PC chips, called Turion, that they hope will prove a challenge to Intel's dominant Centrino platform (which also gets an upgrade this week). The 64-bit Turion is geared towards thin and light laptops — AMD will still push its Mobile Athlon 64 for bigger systems. AMD's short on pricing and technical details at the moment, but systems based on the processor should be availble by mid-year.
