Mossberg on Mac mini, ‘one of Apple’s smartest business moves’

Walt Mossberg, the grand poohbah of technology writers has often opined about Apple products, and in general he likes them. The
Mac mini is no different. Walt has been testing it for several days and he can find few things not to like. He also weighs in on the
cheap Dell vs. Mac mini debate; he points out that neither the Dell or the Mac mini's base cost really give you the computer you should get.  You need to add things to both,
and after you do that the costs are very close.

He does point out a few negatives:

  • DVD player/CD burner makes a lot of noise
  • You can't put anything on top of the it without jamming the DVD drive
  • Windows keyboards don't let you control the volume or brightness of the mini

Overall, Walt says the Mac mini is a good computer for switchers, and a good move for Apple.
