SkipJam announces new features for long-delayed iMedia box
We always find it a little peculiar when companies announce add-ons for products that don't yet exist, but that seems to be what's going on with SkipJam, a company that made a
big splash last year with the announcement of its iMedia Center, a hub for streaming media on home networks. Since then, the iMedia Center has apparently missed its original ship date, though the company has announced pricing ($299-$799, depending on features). We were pretty excited about the iMedia Center when it was announced last year, and we'd still like to see one. In the meantime, the newly announced feature is something called HomeView, which lets customers control and access iMedia Centers from anywhere in the world via a broadband connection. Sounds a lot like Sony's
LocationFree TV, except for one thing: that product actually exists.
