NEC's new LaVie G type J laptop
Seems like everyone's got a new laptop out these days (hmm,
wonder why...), so don't forget NEC! Their new
Sonoma-based LaVie G type J (no, you'll probably never see it hit these shores save the import shop) rocks the ultralow voltage Pentium M 733j angle, and claims 5.4 hours on a regular charge, or 10.6 with an extended battery. Maybe that kind of battery life is still wishful thinking, but at least you can buy it out of box with up to 1.25GB DDR2 RAM, and an 80GB HDD; it's also got a 802.11a/b/g WiFi adapter,
a 12.1-inch XGA screen, and is a mere 10.7 x 9.35 x 1-inches and weighs an unreal 3.04 pounds. Color us believers in dimensions like that, if nothing else.
