Self-Made Objects, and Hard-wired Devices, art about the user and using devices
You know we love the artsy stuff, and we know you love it, too. So hows about that Roger Ibars and his new projects which play off each other, Self-Made Objects, and Hard-wired Devices? One circumvents the user experience and the other umbilically links controllers to devices that don't require them (respectively); like, say, a stereo that only records its own sounds, an alarm clock that only wakes up another alarm clock, a keyboard that only has the keys to type its name (Qwerty, of course), or a scale that's only interested in watching its own weight. We'll save the postmodern art theory dialectic for now though, we're still deep in contemplation and self-analysis over this one.
