Mitac makes good on Mio 268 and 269
Remember Mitac's Mio 268 and 269, the latest in their off-the-beaten-road GPS-enabled handhelds? Perhaps it will refresh your memory if we mention the 269 had the 2.5GB
mini-HDD? Yeah, there you go. Well, good on them: looks like they're living up to their January release date for the handhelds (American's need not apply, this release is currently Euro only) which, as you may recall, feature a 300MHz Intel Xscale CPU, 32MB ROM, 64MB RAM, 3.5-inch transflective 16-bit QVGA touch-screen display, SD slot, and audio out.
Oh, and the SiRFStar II GPS receiver. But, as always, the more the goodness the more the price; in this case it's
€399 (about $520 US) for the 268, and €599 ($780) for the 269 with the 2.5GB drive. Yowch.
