Sonos Digital Music System ships

Sonos launched their long-awaited
long-overdue Digital Music System today, a wireless home audio set up that can be expanded to up to 32 rooms in a house. As you may recall, the system consists of ZonePlayers,
a 50 Watts/channel amplifier with "component quality" audio specs, and Sonos Controllers—wireless handheld devices used to control the music throughout the house. To get you started, Sonos is offering a bundle with two ZonePlayers and one controller for $1199 — additional ZonePlayers will run you $499 and extra controllers cost $399. Not exactly cheap, but compared to some of the other higher-end audio distribution systems available right now, it seems fairly reasonable
(and we're not just saying that because they're helping paying the bills).
