Philips wants to hedge bets on cellphone TV
According to the Reg, Philips apparently thinks phones are going to "overtake television" within 10 years—very bold words that they might end up regretting, but they're apparently planning to back it up on the chip end. But Philips,
who seems to think that within the next decade the majority of their TV chips are going to be in cellphones, may yet be in for a bit of a surprise when someone finds out that while TV on mobiles may be pretty cool, the real margin will continue to be on the high-end and content. Still, somebody's got to back (and make) these things, so at least it's Philips, right?
