Georgia Students may soon get Apple portables
CNET reports that Cobb County School district in the peach state (Georgia) is currently deciding whether or not to go with Apple as the vendor to supply every teacher, middle school student, and high school student with a laptop. This could mean that the district would purchase 'tens of thousands' of Macs (along with a nice support contract, no doubt).
The article also notes that Apple's education revenue was up 20% and sales were up 11%.
Why, in my day we didn't have fancy iBooks! We had
Apple IIe's and we liked it! No hard drives, monochrome, and a 1 MHz CPU, but it suited us just fine.
