Guardian writer denied a weekend with World of Warcraft?

With the European launch of World of Warcraft, we've all kept our fingers crossed that things would go smoothly. It would be a shame if they have the same problems we've seen in North America.

It may be nothing, but a Guardian blogger is having problems setting up a new account. He claims to have spent 5 hours attempting to create one, with no luck. Is this something our UK readers are experiencing? If it's a large problem, is there an official word from Blizzard?
