Nominees announced for 5th Annual Game Developers Choice Awards

The annual Game Developers Choice Awards have been announced, setting the stage for this year's Game Developers Conference. The winners will be announced at the conference next month to much fanfare and drunkenness. The finalists for Best Game are:

Burnout 3: Takedown

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas

Half-Life 2

Katamari Damacy

World of Warcraft

Putting on my developer's cap (a small, ratty thing that gets no respect) I'm going to call Katamari Damacy for Best Game. If I were Game God, it would be HL2, though.

The list also has finalists for New Studio (Cryptic will take this one), Audio (Doom3 will take this one), Character Design (HL2 will take this one), Game Design (HL2), Technology (HL2, though Far Cry is close), Visual Arts (HL2,
definite trend), Writing (Star Wars: KOTR 2, trend broken!).
