SanDisk's BookLocker
While we highly doubt SanDisk's claim that their BookLocker flash drive will free students from carrying around heavy books and backpacks, it does look like something that more intrepid universities might do well to adopt
(especially if, you know, they gave them to students). The device is basically a standard Cruzer USB
drive with enhanced security and added DRM measures, plus an included eBook reader. Digital books can be purchased online and then read on any PC, without having to be connected to the Internet or install any software
(though we wish people would just chill on the DRM and let all that knowledge roam free) Of course, the BookLocker can also be used as a regular flash drive, so you can store plenty of MP3s on there along with your textbooks.
