One less thing to worry about: cellphones that emit less radiation than they could
No one seems to be able to say one way or the other
whether our cellphones are killing us (we really, really, really hope they're not going to), but a study by Finland's Radiation and Nuclear Safety Authority has at least been able to establish one thing: that cellphones are emitting as much (or as little)
radiation as manufacturers claim they do. They did some lab work on 16 new handsets from Nokia, Samsung, Motorola and others and found that each phone showed a specific absorption rate below the 2 watts per kilogram level that is acceptable in Europe (the acceptable limit is actually even lower here in the States), with the worst offender topping out at 1.12 watts per kilogram.
