The downside to using the classified ads
There are plenty of ways to get scammed when you try to sell your stuff on eBay, but at least nobody comes by your house, ties you up, and makes off with the goods, right? (Unless that's your thing, you freak.) We only bring this up because some guy in Westminster, Colorado thought it'd be a laugh to respond to a classified ad James Reynolds placed for the 42-inch Hitachi plasma TV he was trying to sell, make an appointment to come by and check out the TV, and then return a few hours laters with a couple of friends to rob the place. The perps tied Reynolds up and ended up stealing a lot more than just his plasma TV, but he recognized the ringleader as the same guy who had come by earlier and it didn't take long for the cops to get everyone in hand. And here we were thinking ski-masks were this horrible robber's cliche.
