Ask Engadget: Printers from a company you can live with?
Yep, yep, it's Thursday afternoon, which means it's time once again for Ask Engadget. Last week reader Fahd R.
wanted some recommendations on good Japan-only gadgets to pick up on his upcoming trip to Tokyo, this week Andy wants some advice on finding a printer company he can live with:
I recently got burned by buying a cheap HP printer that broke within a year. Combine that with the news that HP is
using ink cartridges that expire and I've decided that I don't want to put any money into their company or any other
company that behaves in a similar way. So my question is, who can we turn to for reasonably priced printers that
don't jerk their customers around? What brands are good and what brands are bad? I've been looking at Brother, they
have pretty cheap cartridges on eBay for their printers, but are they actually any better than HP? Thanks!
Anyone have any suggestions? We were sort of hoping that we'd have moved past this whole paper thing by now, but we'll grudgingly concede that people do have to occasionally print things out.
