Treo 650 disappears from Cingular.com

About a billion people wrote in to point out that Cingular has pulled the Treo 650 from their online store, so we played dumb and called up their main sales line pretending to be interested in buying one. The rep we spoke to said they had plenty in stock, but that the online store had likely just "run out" of their allotment. True? Probably, but we've also heard from various quarters that there are some problems with the phone, specifically that palmOne has recalled a lot of the phones to fix various software bugs and that there is also some sort of issue with using certain kinds of SIM cards with the phones.
