Engadget turns one
Can you believe it's already been a year since we launched? Yep, it was exactly 365 days ago that we took the wraps off the site, and I've never had a year of my life pass so quickly (or one where I've gotten so little sleep). If you're traditional you're supposed to get us something paper (a paycheck might be nice); modern should be a clock (we'll take that Philips PS110, thanks!).
To be honest, I couldn't have asked for a better past twelve months. There's no snarky way to say this, but I never thought I'd be fortunate enough to spend my days (and nights) doing what I love and working with such an amazing group of people. I'd especially like to say thanks to everyone who's ever read us, linked to us, sent in a tip, posted in our comments, or recommended us to their friends, you've all been really good to us. We don't take your attention or readership for granted, and we're going to be working even harder in the coming year to make Engadget the best possible all-around site for gadgets and consumer electronics.
We've got some very, very big stuff planned for our second twelve months, but in the meantime, to say thank you we're going to have a huge giveaway later this afternoon. Check back for that in an hour or two.
And for now, here's the year in numbers:
-
Total number of posts: 7,840 (give or take a few hundred
that never saw the light of day)
-
Most posts in one day: Tied! 1/5/2005 and 1/7/2005 with 57 posts!
What, give us a break, it was freaking CES!
