Hifidelio standalone network jukebox -- worth £600?
We're not sure if it's worth the £600 it's going for in the U.K., but the Hifidelio music server does seem to have some decent features, including an 80GB hard drive, built-in CDDB database (with updates available either online or via CD) and support for MP3, AAC, WMA and OGG. Clearly, if you're at all technically inclined, you can put together a comparable system for a lot less (or just pick up an
MP3Beamer and be done with it), but for mainstream consumers looking to create a PC-free digital jukebox, it could be a good deal — though, frankly, if you're going to spend that much, you may want to just go whole hog and get a
Sonos system.
