Rio's fall line: the Chroma and color Carbon?

There've been a lot of mumblings going on in the Rio camp as to when their now-overhyped and long overdue
Chroma player (the followup to the now infamous
Karma) was going to surface—the latest is that the device will have a 30GB drive (up 10GB from the rumored 20 it'd be packing), an FM tuner, and Bluetooth, and that it'll hit in fall of 2005. (An upgraded version of the Carbon is rumored as well, with a color LCD and higher capacity hard drive.) Whereas these numbers could just as well be totally made up, it wouldn't surprise us if Rio did introduce these products later this year—they've been continuously very tight-lipped about what's going on. But we're going to have to call a red flag on these guys. Two years between product cycles is unacceptable, even for Rio.
