Elder Scrolls IV interview addresses some concerns
ExperienceGaming asks some tough questions of Todd Howard, Executive Producer of Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. A
couple of things caught our attention in the last preview we read (on IGN I think). Of special concern, is that it looks like the game will have less characters to interact with this time around. One of the wonderful things about Morrowind was the overwhelming number of inhabitants. It was the most "online" offline game ever made. But the fourth title in the series will offer 1000 NPCs. Is that enough? Is this a sign that the game world will be substantially smaller?
Don't get us wrong, we have a lot of faith in the creative team. They stole hundreds of hours from our lives with their last effort. The bottom line (for now) is that Howard isn't concerned with the decision. In fact, he says the game has too many characters, if anything, and the team's track record of "overdoing" it will continue. Good to hear.
