Survey sez: cellphone growth slowing
Maybe it's because cellphones really aren't getting much cheaper, or maybe it's because everyone and their freaking mother,
grandmother, and
dog have a cellphone now, but sales are expected to slow to a sluggish 7% growth this year according to principal market analyst Gartner. Not that that really means much—the cellphone market will continue to exist without growth, since handsets will always need to be upgraded with the latest and greatest in features and network operability; but, uh oh! Gartner also reports that many users aren't digging on bulky 3G handsets. What's a cellphone company to do? Well, some are starting to
figure it out.
