Sprint to offer on-site cellphone repairs
Sprint thinks they've figured out a better way to deal with broken cellphones—rather than ship everything out to a central repair facility, which costs them extra money and you extra time, they're going to start offering on-site repairs at more than half of their 800 retail locations by the middle of the month. If your phone's circuitry is totally fux0red you're still going to have to get a replacement, but they're promising that if your phone has something busted like a screen, antenna, or hinge they should be able to fix it up on-site within a few hours. We'll see how well this actually works (and right now they're only promising support for 10 different models), but it's definitely better than having to deal with the frustration of shipping your old phone to a central repair facility and then waiting for a replacement to be sent out to you.
