NYC Apple Store threatens Tekserve?

If you're a Mac user in the NYC metropolitan area and you've been here for any amount of time, then you are probably well familiar with
Tekserve, which is the place in the city to get Mac repairs,
training, and to buy Mac products.  Well,
Curbed,
the NYC Real Estate blog, is running a post today talking about Apple's new Apple Store planned for the Flatiron District and how it's a little too close for comfort to Tekserve.  Curbed notes that one Tekserve employee
"notes of Apple, 'They're bastards.'"

On the other hand, if you take your ailing Mac to a Mac genius, who tells you that you need a new SuperDrive, it won't take a genius to figure out that the small walk over to Tekserve would be well worth getting around Apple's inflated installation and component pricing scheme.
