Torvalds on a Mac

Slashdot is pointing to
this ZDNet Australia story about Linus Torvalds,
the father of Linux, who in the article says, "My main machine these days is a dual 2GHz G5 (aka PowerPC 970) -
it's physically a regular Apple Mac, although it obviously only runs Linux, so I don't think you can call it a Mac any more ;)."
He goes on to note that the choice is not because of any favoritism to the Mac, but rather because he
"got the machine for free" and because he's a self-proclaimed "technology whore."

What I want to know is: what version(s) of Linux is he running on the G5? Is it some home brew 1337 Torvalds souped up variant of the main kernel?
