Goodbye GDC, Jet Blue beckons

I have to head out today. Bummer. This was my fourth GDC and it was the best in many respects.

It was the first time I blogged an event and, man, was it an experience. It was fun as hell but also ended up being much tougher than I imagined. For example, I'm sitting on a half-dozen posts that need some editing and follow-up on my part. I'll work on them during the flight and get them out asap. The topics of the posts include:

  • Some independent games that really stood out. This is where you'll find the cutting-edge, no doubt about it.

  • Expo floor impressions, with pics.

  • Hands-on with Nintendo's Geist and Donkey Kong Jungle Beat.

  • Hands-on with PSP's Spider-man 2 and Lumines.

  • Memories – a pictoral tale of life at GDC. If you have a weak stomach you may want to miss this one.

  • A Joystiq contest that Xbox lovers will appreciate.

I learned a lot about covering a conference on this trip. I look forward to using my newfound wisdom on the floor of 2005's E3! I gather there are going to be some announcements made this year.
