Motorola and Jaguar: Bluetooth bliss

Enter another page in the annals of Bluetooth car integration history with Motorola and Jaguar's new matchup. Motorola will be providing the hands-free in-vehicle technology across all Jaguar 2005 models. Feature set will be as we've come to expect: after an initial Bluetooth pairing, contacts from your phone get automagically downloaded into the system. Expect integrated steering wheel and audio system controls, and the ability to place and receive calls using simple voice commands. When a call is received,
the caller name or number is displayed and the stereo muted, so at least you only have one distraction from the driving task at a time. Motorola's noise reduction and echo cancellation technology will help ensure less interference from the call of the open road, which admittedly does lose its romance — even in a Jaguar. Not like we'd know — we're still waiting for someone to announce Bluetooth integration with our Ford Pinto.
Nokia, we're looking at you.
