Cingular breaks 50 million subscribers

Former top dog Verizon Wireless probably wasn't too happy to hear about this, but the other day Cingular announced that they'd signed up their 50 millionth subscriber (Verizon is actually still a close second, with 43.8 million customers). Even 50 million is still less than 30% of the overall market, but Cingular has already been throwing their newfound weight around now that their merger with AT&T Wireless is complete, putting the hurt on T-Mobile with all sorts of big handset exclusives (you think it's a coincidence they're the only ones in the US who have the
RAZR V3 or the
S710a?).
