John Carmack blogs a second time

Basking in the glow of Doom 3's success (and finally having a couple of minutes to spare), John Carmack started a blog late last year. The new entry goes into his latest venture in the mobile arena. Apparently, he's working on a cell phone title after a run-in with some crappy game demos on his personal handset. His effort is called DoomRPG. In Carmack's own words:

"...Bard's Tale meets Doom. Step based smooth sliding/turning tile movement and combat works out well for the phone input buttons, and exploring a 3D world through the cell phone window is pretty neat."

It sounds just like Carmack to stretch his brain muscles on a 128 k game before diving into his next uber-engine.
