HP goes silver

So HP is overhauling its Pavilion line of desktops — not by bumping up any of the internal specs, mind you, but by coating the exteriors of the boxes in silver and white. This will reportedly allow the three updated models to be camouflaged expressly for your living room, where the terrain is already rife with other silvery electronic gadgets.
Not lost on CNet is the advent of these "so-called digital homes" in which consumers use PCs to shuffle around multimedia files (if you happen to catch one of these elusive beasts in the wild, send us a tip, will ya?). HP will also be shipping its new Media Center m7000 Series PhotoSMart PC with an
iPod dock and a digital camera dock, because they're all hip to this so-called digital lifestyle, dig? Of course, the reason HP is coating their Pavilion machines in silvery goodness has nothing to do with Apple, they say, but rather because "customers preferred the new palate [sic]."
And the reason customers preferred the new "palate"? We're not sure, but it's got nuthin' to do with Apple, y'hear?
