Japanese developers create magnetic CPU cooler

A Japanese company has reportedly developed a CPU-cooling system that uses a magnetic fluid and requires no electricity to function. The system will apparently use a hollow magnet and magnetic nanoparticles mixed with oil to draw heat away from the CPU without requiring a pump. (We assume the magnet is shielded well enough to avoid wiping all data from your PC while it's cooling it off.) According to reports, the system will be viable for use in laptops and will cost as little as $15 when it goes into mass production. But somehow we doubt it will ever take the place of pump-driven liquid cooling systems (like the one used in the Thunderbox PC, pictured) in the hearts of hardcore gamers and modders.
