Nikon confirms two new entry-level digital SLR cameras

We know all the uncertainty about this has been wrenching, but Nikon has officially confirmed that they will be launching two new entry-level digital SLRs by end of the month. They're still being a little cagey about what either of the cameras will be called (our money is on one of them being the
Nikon D50), but they will at least say that one of the cameras will be a successor to the Nikon D70 that retains "the functionality and quality which has come to be expected from the D70," while the other will be a more affordable consumer-grade camera that's "specifically designed for consumers looking to upgrade from a digital compact to the next level of digital photography."
