Samsung bringing DMB to Germany

Terrestrial Digital Multimedia Broadcasting (or
DMB) isn't even close to making it over here, but Samsung just scored a deal with Deutsche Telekom to introduce a line of DMB handsets in Germany so that people will be able to watch digital video broadcasts of next year's World Cup live on their cellphones. It's a big win for Samsung, which has been trying to push DMB outside of South Korea, but they'll be going head-to-head with Nokia,
which is pushing a competing standard (called
DVB-H) for broadcasting TV to cellphones and other mobile devices.
